100 Joys

I've been following SaraMarkley.com for some time now, and this Christmas season she has put out a challenge to look for the joy in this Christmas season. Her challenge is to take pictures of each joy and catalog it a blog. I'm not too great about taking pictures each day, but I think this is a great thing to focus on this Christmas!!  :-)

{1} I found joy in a trip to East Texas with my man to buy a used car. I followed my husband home in my new car and partway back he turned off the main road and took me down a winding dirt road. The weather was perfect--as we bumped along I rolled the windows down and let the breeze play in my hair. The trees arched over us in a canopy, reminding me of Anne of Green Gables 'White Way of Delight.' Even though in reality my man and I were in two different vehicles, I felt as though I was snuggled against him in a horse drawn buggy. It was perfect.

{2}I found joy in a dear friends surprise 50th birthday. She was like a second mother to me when I was a girl, and seeing her again after so long brought joy to my heart. She was so surprised!!!

{3}I found joy as I helped my man string the lights and hang garland on our first Christmas tree. We turned on the Christmas music in the background and sang along. When we were through I fixed a snack plate and we cuddled on the couch and watched our creation. It was a perfect moment.

{4} I found joy in a trip to Bethlehem Revisited, an interactive reenactment of the Christmas story. We walked around Bethlehem, talked to the inhabitants, tasted the food, pet the goats, took pictures in front of the Wisemen's camels, and watched herod's court and the angel's appearance to the shepherds.
